They say that idle hands can get up to no good, but mine got to baking some brownies! There I was, sitting on the couch watching tv, when a strong craving for their gooey goodness kicked in. And with that, it was time to hit the kitchen.
But these aren’t your ordinary brownies. Ohhh no! They’re pure chocolately heaven. Because I don’t settle for anything ordinary, I added organic cocoa nibs into the mix (which are pretty much raw cacao beans). With zero grams of sugar, it’s an ideal addition to an already sweet recipe and the perfect kick of crunch.
This is what you’ll need:
1/2 cup of sunflower oil
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup flour
2 full tbsp cocoa powder
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup organic coca bits
peel of 1 citrus fruit (orange, grapefruit, or lemon)
Start by preheating your oven to about 350 Farenheit.
Then, mix the sugar and oil together until incorporated, adding the eggs as well as fruit peel. In a separate bowl, sift together the dry ingredients: the flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder and combine these with the sugar mix. Stir together, along with the cocoa bits and pour the contents into a greased square pan.
Bake for about 25 minutes and let cool before your taste test!
Style is served!
