Foxy Originals Earrings will Make You Smile from Ear to Ear!

Earrings are a fun, quick, and easy way to add flair to any outfit. Whether you charm with chandeliers or stand out with studs, you can be sure that people will take notice. But if you’re like me, picking the right pair is not always easy. Why? Well, because unless they’re silver or gold my ears won’t put up with them. No, not because I’m fussy, bur rather because I’m allergic. One hour in and no matter how pretty, the earrings have to come off before my rash gets out of control. That’s the sad truth.

But that’s not the case with Foxy Originals pieces. A Canadian brand that’s locally made since 1998, each item is silver or gold plated and lead-free. That means that if you’re like me, you can wear their earrings without worry and have plenty of options to choose from!

The best part? They’re incredibly stylish. My favourites include pretty much all of their ear jackets, but especially the Pixie Earrings in silver and Utopia Earrings in gold, pictured below. Though you may think of them as only two pairs, I see four! Yep –it gets even better, you can war them more than one way.

Stick with the Stud: if you want to stick with the basics, you can wear only the top part of the ear jacket –which is the stud! Because this piece in itself is stunning and intricately shaped (feathers, triangles, you name it!) it will make a statement all on its own.

Wear it the Right Way: you can also just follow the rules and wear the ear jackets as they’re meant to be.

Mix and Match: if you’re one to walk on the wild side, you can pair up the stud from one pair, with the bottom of another. But to make sure there isn’t too much of a difference between the two, just wear gold with gold, and silver with silver.

Whichever way you choose to wear these fantastic ear jackets, they’re guaranteed to look great. For more you can visit their website by clicking here, or liking them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!

Taming the Mane: Stylish Ways to Fend off Hat Hair

Have you been outside lately? Yeah, I know -it doesn’t look or feel that bad. But there is still some snow on the ground and though spring may seem like it’s here to settle in quite soon, you just might come across a few flakes and frostier temps when you least expect it. So don’t put away those winter accessories, and hold on to your hats.

Speaking of hats, some may groan at even the quickest mention of that word. Why? Well, considering that wearing one can leave your lair looking like a hurricane has passed through, most may want to chuck it aside. If that’s you, don’t fret –there are ways to rock one without all that fuss! Read below for ways to tame your mane and help your hat help you!

How About Hairstyle?: One key to making a hat work, is picking the right hairstyle. Try sporting loose pigtail braids to keep everything in place even after you’re hat-free. Or, opt for messy beach waves –they’re meant to look a little rough around the edges anyway so a topper will help rather than hurt you.

Become Besties with Dry Shampoo: Ok, so hats can leave your tresses looking like you just stepped out of the shower. Why? No, it’s not because you actually did, but because they can make it oily. And with that, it’s time to send dry shampoo to the rescue. Spray a little on and comb it out to feel brand new. Oh one more thing: it adds plenty of volume!

Soak up the Suds: Another way you can make the best of this is essential winter accessory is to keep it clean. Hand-wash your hat with detergent for delicate garments or even shampoo. If you wear it over and over again, it’s bound to not only look worn out, but will leave your locks oily and weighed down.

With these tips in tow, you’re ready to take your hat game to the next level! Berets, tuques, and beanies better watch out –there’s no stopping you now.

One Necklace, Two Ways: The Perfect Workday Accessory

You don’t need a ton of pieces to make your wardrobe work! Just become best friends with the basics and you’re set to pull together an effortless outfit in seconds. But one thing is guaranteed to tie it all together –an eye-catching accessory. One of my favourites? The Gem Necklace from Foxy Originals. With just the right amount of sparkle, this piece is ready to rock with you from day to night. Here’s how to wear it no matter where your busy schedule takes you!

Nine to Five

“What will I wear to work?” It’s a question we ask too often, especially when Monday rolls around! To make things easier (and much faster in the morning), choose a classic white shirt, black pants, and throw on a patterned coat or poncho for added flare. But to really make the outfit pop, pair it with Foxy Orginals’ Gem Necklace –it’s the perfect piece. Though I styled mine with fall-appropriate attire, it works just as well with dresses, skirts, and blouses.

Sure, the Gem Necklace does its job from nine to five, but it works just as hard overtime. The secret to changing it up when your duties for the day are done? Double-up the necklace to create a shorter piece. Wear it with a strappy black top, leather leggings, and a brightly coloured clutch –you’re ready to head out on the town!

There you have it –one necklace, two ways!

Secrets for Late-Summer Dressing!

Everyone’s favourite season is slowly winding down, but that doesn’t mean you have to put away your summer clothes just yet. You can still sport your favourite sundress, loveliest espadrilles, and stunning straw hat.

With that being said, late-summer doesn’t bring quite the same weather as the dog days of July. When September approaches, things take a turn. To make the transition an easier one, here’s a list to keep in mind when putting your outfits together!

Let’s Talk Layers: days may be hot, but the evenings will start to have a cool breeze. If you’re heading out for the entire day, bring along a light cardigan, or tie a chambray shirt around your waist –pieces that can be easily carried and are neutral enough to match most attires.

Consider Colour: bright shades and neon colours spell out summer! As we approach autumn, opt for Earthier and more muted tones of your favourite palette. Until then though, feel free to wear every colour of the rainbow –in one outfit, if you wish.

Pattern Picking: florals are fun –but not beyond the sunny days of spring and summer. Before we change seasons, make sure that you’ve worn all of your most colourful, psychedelic pattern combinations. Sure, you can sport prints in the fall, but you’ll have to stick with pretty little polka dots and classic stripes. The trick when transitioning? Wear summer items like a romper in a more subtle pattern.

Must-Haves for a Quick Weekend Getaway!

Summer is short but since many can’t take the time off to travel, weekends are to be cherished! They are the best time to get away and leave the buzz of the city behind. Sometimes, these quick trips are spontaneous –leaving you with little time to pack. Not to mention, you’re only on the go for two to three days. So what should you stow away in your overnight bag?

When you’re putting your packing list together, bring things that will make your travel hassle-free and don’t require a suitcase. Here are a few essentials you can’t (and shouldn’t) leave behind:

1. Dry Shampoo: Let’s face it –this season is all about frizz, humidity, and  fussy hair. But while you’re away from home and on the go, quick showers throughout the day aren’t always an option. So when you need a mid-day refresher, spay on some dry shampoo and you will be set for whatever your agenda has in store –lounging on a lawn chair included!

2. Tinted SPF balm: Rosy lips or sun protection? Now you can have both and save some space in your bag for those sandals you really want to bring along! Buy a tinted lip balm that also has SPF( minimum 15). That way, you have great hydration throughout the day, stay away from sunburn, and have a great lip tint for the evening –all in one.

3. Double Duty Clutch: When space is limited, try to use your items for more than one purpose. Example? Why not turn your clutch or small bag into a make-up bag! Let it hold your make up as you’re in transit, lay out all products on the bathroom counter at your destination, and use the bag/clutch for evenings out.

4.Make room for Magazines: Whether getting to your destination takes a few hours, or all you’ll be doing is lounging on the shores of a lake, magazines are a must to help pass the time. Bring a few of the latest issues on your trip and catch up on your favourite fashion trends or topic of interest!

So kick back, relax, and worry about which cool drink to sip on next rather than the packing!

The Go-To Guide for Bolder Brows

Bold brows have been a stylish girl’s staple for quite a while now, banishing the pencil-thin and over-plucked shape. If you need any confirmation, then look no further than to celebrities walking the red carpet. Icons like Cara Delevigne, Camilla Belle, and Lilly Collins have mastered the look, and surely serve as inspiration.  Let’s be honest, how many of you have brought in a picture and told your esthetician “Can I please have the Cara?”.

But achieving the look is more than just a trip to the brow bar. Here’s a breakdown of the process:

Grooming: Fuller, doesn’t mean unkempt. Take the time to wax, thread, or pluck your eyebrows in order to give them the right shape and arch for your face. For the first time, don’t try to do this on your own. Visit a professional who specializes in brow care so you can get the best results.

Filling: Once you have a shape, then you have a blank canvas and it’s time to start filling. There are many options on the market, including pencils, powders, and gels. But whichever brand and formula you choose, make sure that it’s the right shade for you. Opt for one that is closest to your hair colour and not too dark –otherwise you run the risk of always looking mad.

Sealing: Once your brows are groomed and filled, it’s time to seal the look. Sweep a coat of clear gel to make sure everything stays in place. Rain, snow, hurricane winds –whatever weather is in store, you will be set to face it.
