Fall –for many, that word can only mean one thing: the transition into a chiller season. But think about it, autumn brings along the perfect temps for sweater weather, and an excuse for all things pumpkin-spiced. So it’s not that bad after all, right?

To make the most of the season, here are some activities to get you outdoors and to become a fan of fall.

Venture out for Apple-Picking: Pies, flans, and crumbles. These are the staples of fall desserts and have one thing in common –apples. The season’s best fruit are a must-have if you’re going to be baking. But where’s the fun in getting the ingredients from the grocery store? Head out of the city and on to a farm instead to pick your apples. Not only is this a fun activity, but you’ll be enjoying the fresh fall air and

Pay a Visit to the Pumpkin Patch: Pumpkins are multi-purpose. They can serve as an ingredient for some of the season’s iconic foods, and are equally great for decorating. Much like the apples, you can definitely pick these up at a store nearby. But venture out to a pumpkin patch and make a day of it! You’re also bound to find more varieties, shapes, and sizes.

Appreciate the Beauty of Parks: We often get so caught up in the concrete skyline of the city, that we forget there’s nature all around us. Fall is a season when you’ll find an especially striking display as the tree crowns change colours. To see for yourself, check out nearby parks, conservation areas, and various geological sites –they’re sure to impress (and who knows, maybe inspire the palette for your fall wardrobe)!.
